AWE’s longstanding commitment to Naomi House and Jacksplace was recognised at their 2014 Corporate Charity Awards held on Tuesday 18th November.
For over 15 years, AWE staff has been donating to this exceptional local charity which cares for life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families.
Receiving the award on behalf of AWE, Fiona Rogers, Head of Corporate Communications said: “We’re delighted to receive this award. Naomi House has held a special place in the hearts of many AWE staff for a long time and no doubt will continue to in the future.”
AWE Community Committee Secretary Michele Maidment said: “ AWE is committed to supporting local charities. AWE proactively encourages staff to volunteer and either fund raise or give time to their chosen charities”.
Keith Wilson, from Naomi House said: “When a company chooses to support Naomi House & Jacksplace we are, of course, delighted. But when a firm choses to support us year after year it is hugely beneficial to our operation. Long-term support helps us to plan for the future, and to promise families that we will be there for them next year, and the next… and the next.”

2. AWE is contracted to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) through a Government-owned Contractor Operated (GOCO) arrangement. Whilst our sites and facilities remain in government ownership, their management, day to day operations, and the maintenance of the nuclear stockpile is contracted to a private company AWE Management Limited (AWE ML). AWE ML is a consortium comprising three equal partners: Serco Group plc, the Lockheed Martin Corporation and Jacobs Engineering Group.
