New website launched

AWE has upgraded and relaunched its new and improved website to make it easier for users to explore and learn more about the company while keeping up to date with the latest news.

Whist the website address – www.awe.co.uk – remains unchanged, the technology behind the site enables AWE to rapidly update and display information. A document library provides easy access to public information leaflets, reports and technical papers. It is also designed to be accessible via the latest devices like mobiles, tablets and other media.

Fiona Rogers, AWE’s Head of Corporate Communications, said: “This much needed upgrade to our website enables AWE to communicate more effectively with all of its stakeholders. We know that our local community in particular, values the channel as an important source of information on latest news and activities. It also provides the wider public with a better and more informed view of our business, our operations, and through case studies and job profiles, what it’s like to work here.”

AWE worked with Forepoint, a creative and digital creations agency on the new design, Forepoint account manager, Steve Gill, said: “We are extremely proud of the site and our collaborative approach with AWE to deliver the final product.”

Notes to Editors

  1. AWE plays a crucial role in national defence by providing and maintaining warheads for Trident, the UK’s nuclear deterrent
  2. AWE is contracted to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) through a Government-owned Contractor Operated (GOCO) arrangement. Whilst our sites and facilities remain in government ownership, their management, day-to-day operations, and the maintenance of the nuclear stockpile is contracted to a private company AWE Management Limited (AWE ML). AWE ML is a consortium comprising three equal partners: Serco Group plc, the Lockheed Martin Corporation and Jacobs Engineering Group.
  3. AWE press releases are available on our website: www.awe.co.uk.  For further information contact Catherine Lynagh on Media@AWE.co.uk 0118 985 6414.
  4. Forepoint Limited use their expertise and experience to deliver strategic, creative and digital communications that engage, are tangible and relevant, but most of all deliver real benefit.
