The 5% Club campaign is celebrating its 2nd anniversary

AWE  are a proud member of the campaign, meaning we have committed to ensuring that 5% of our workforce are on apprentice, graduate or sponsored student training schemes within a five year time frame.

In early 2014 our organisation, AWE were one of the first sign the 5% charter, pledging continued support for young people into employment and equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to have successful career.

The 5% campaign is focussed on driving momentum into the recruitment of young people. As an active member, AWE committed to ensuring that 5% of our workforce are on apprentice, graduate or sponsored student training schemes. AWE currently achieves 5.4% and providing exciting career opportunities for scientists and engineers.

There is no cost in joining the 5% Club and there are a number of benefits, including association with an initiative which has great feedback from government, good employee engagement and the opportunity to be part of a growing network of businesses all keen to make a difference to the UK’s skill shortage and youth unemployment.

Marcus Hutchings, Manager of AWE’s Skills Academy “ AWE recognises the need to develop a skilled and diverse workforce for the future. As one of the countries leading apprenticeships providers, we have never been more committed to providing opportunities for young people. We are a proud member of the 5% Club and look forward to supporting these initiative for Apprenticeship and Graduate programmes in the months and years to come.”  He continued” We look forward to inspiring great minds of the future and have just welcomed 42 new apprentices who joined our business in September”
