AWE Apprenticeship Open Day Success

Over 700 people attended an AWE Apprenticeship Open Day.

The event took place on Tuesday December 1st at Tadley Library and was designed to give parents and perspective apprentices an overview of what to expect of an
AWE apprenticeship.

Parents and perspective apprentices came from as far as Reading and Newbury to learn about the AWE scheme.

Victoria Edwards, AWE marketing manager said: “I was delighted to see so many people attend this event. This huge turnout illustrates that there is a very strong
appetite for apprenticeships. People asked lots of questions about what to expect out of an AWE apprenticeship and it was great to have current enthusiastic AWE apprentice’s on-hand to answer them.”

Applications for the award winning AWE apprenticeship programme are now open until mid-January 2016.

AWE's nationally recognised Skills Academy will see apprentices work on site to achieve an NVQ qualification combined with day release to college to achieve a Level 3 Technical Certificate.
Applications for AWE Engineering Apprenticeships are invited in the following areas: Mechanical Maintenance, Electronic Maintenance, Control and Instrumentation, Precision Machining and Electrical Maintenance.
