AWE fills Christmas charity stockings

AWE strengthened its relationship with local charity, Young People and Children First this Christmas by donating five stockings full of presents.

The Cornerstone house run by charity, Young People and Children First, aims to bridge the gap between those leaving care and taking the daunting step of achieving independence and self-sufficiency.

Young People and Children First was previously an AWE Charity of the Year and the AWE Community Committee continues to support the charity when possible.

Michele Maidment, secretary of the AWE Community Committee said: “This is the third year AWE has supported this worthy charity. AWE is committed to supporting local and national charities with donations, sponsorship and practical help. This donation means each resident of the Cornerstone House will receive gifts this Christmas.”

Charity trustee Patsy Stone said: “We are delighted that AWE continues to support us. Thanks to your generosity the young people in Cornerstone will each receive a Christmas stocking, filling the gap of having things they have never had before. These will make a difference on Christmas morning.”
