Apply for AWE’s award-winning apprenticeship programme!

Recruitment for places at AWE’s nationally-recognised Skills Academy is under way and offers an expanded range of apprenticeship opportunities for 2017.

The success of the existing programme, which produces highly-skilled engineering professionals, has led to the introduction of four new modules - Laboratory Technicians, Health Physics, Process Operators and Technical Authors – and an increase in the number of places on offer.

In fact, said Marcus Hutchings, Head of the AWE Skills Academy:

“We are almost tripling the number of apprenticeship places available here. Our electrical, engineering and manufacturing programmes have been running for nearly 65 years and produce highly-skilled individuals who play a vital role in supporting our work.

“We are very proud of the results achieved by the young men and women on our programmes, who are incredibly rewarding to work with. We develop our apprentices at every level and this is definitely an exciting time to be joining the academy, with the expansion of the options which are available. We are looking for college students, school leavers and individualswho are interested in a fascinating career, who want to learn, earn and study, and want to be part of a world-leading company.”

Applications for the AWE apprenticeship programme open on 14 December and will be open for six weeks, for apprenticeships starting on 4 September 2017. Details can be found at www.awe.co.uk/careers and you can find out more at the following information sessions:

22 November at Basingstoke College, Worting Road, Basingstoke, from 12pm to 6pm

1 December at Newbury College, Monks Lane, Newbury, from 12pm to 6pm

13 December Reading College, Kings Road, Reading, from 12pm to 6pm

There will be lots of information about the AWE apprenticeship programme and current apprentices will be chatting about their experiences.
