AWE has a dedicated Employee Development Centre which has a suite of training rooms as well as a range of meeting and syndicate rooms of varying sizes. It also offers facilities for tutor-led, computer based learning and an internet café.
The range of courses provided at the Employee Development Centre will differ according to need but typically includes:
- Personal Development subjects such as ‘Presentation Skills’, ‘Time Management’ and ‘Selection Skills’.
- Leadership and Management Development modules covering the whole breadth of leadership functions at AWE.
- Specialist and Technical skills such as Project Management, NEBOSH and CAD.
- Computer-based modules such as MS Office and specialist software packages.
In addition to the centralised Employee Development Centre, there is a satellite Learning Facility at each of the two main sites. These facilities are known as ALF (AWE Learning Facility) and are for individual learning requirements which are provided via computer based modules. The modules available range from Basic computer and MS Office skills, right through to a range of technical packages, as well as offering modules to support the softer skills in areas such as Customer Care and Presentation Skills.
