In an organisation this size, there is an almost constant need to keep developing our on-site facilities. That can mean anything from upgrading an office through to building an entirely new laboratory.
Working with Jacobs Engineering, our embedded strategic partner and managing agent, it’s the job of our Facilities Delivery team to make sure our facilities are up to standard and continue to meet AWE’s diverse needs.
There are a number of roles available within our Facilities Delivery team:
Project Managers/Engineers
Our Project Managers and Engineers are responsible for managing a wide variety of facilities projects. They work closely with AWE and Jacobs colleagues – including quality management, business management, facilities design and construction management – and with external organisations.
Civil and Structural Engineers
Our experienced Civil and Structural Engineers advise AWE Facility Managers and Project Engineers as well as assisting in any design work and updating AWE standard specifications.
Mechanical, Electrical, Process Chemical and C&I Engineers
These specialist Engineers provide wide-ranging support to our various facilities projects.
Chartered Engineers
We recruit Chartered Engineers (and those working towards Chartership) with experience of engineering design, installation and maintenance at a regulated site. The job involves making sure design projects fully comply with all the relevant legislation and regulations and are delivered on time, on budget and to our strict quality standards.
Engineering Managers
Our Engineering Managers are responsible for the various engineering disciplines that come together within Facilities Delivery. That includes ensuring all design changes are configured, designers’ risk assessments are reviewed, monitoring the quality of engineering work across all disciplines and making sure we are complying with the Project Book and Project Process.
