Our Manufacturing team is responsible for building and storing warhead components and materials. It’s made up of four main manufacturing areas (including Precision Engineering and Explosives), three technical support groups (Manufacturing Process Engineering, Technical Operations Group, and Manufacturing Materials Research and Development) and a Senior Project Sponsor Team. The whole group is supported by the Strategic Manufacturing Systems Team.
Our work embraces a wide range of electronics, software, electro-mechanical, optical and high voltage technologies, as well as the systems integration technology that brings it all together. Working closely with industry and other external organisations, we are involved in everything from the design of weapons systems through to development, manufacture and assurance.
We also have close links with the academic community which supports our active programme of research and development across a broad spectrum of electronics, physics, mechanical and systems technologies.
The kinds of people we look for are typically experienced Electronics Engineers and Systems Engineers plus Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers.
