Receiving regular feedback throughout your career is a vital way to gauge your progress and identify those areas where you can polish your skills or learn new ones.
We work with you right from the start of your career, setting agreed objectives and standards that you can aim for. From then on, these will be reviewed regularly through one-to-ones with your managers and mentors. As part of the process, we’ll benchmark your line manager’s comments to check you are being assessed in the same way as your peers.
Annual Employee Performance Appraisals (EPAs) will be carried out by your line manager, although others may formally or informally feed into these summary reviews. The appraisal year typically ends in February and pay, which is based on performance, is awarded in line with Trade Union agreements and is typically paid in the June payroll.
Our ultimate goal is to make sure you have every opportunity to develop at the speed and in the direction you want, in line with the needs of the business as a whole. Once we’ve identified an opportunity to help you develop your skills, you can work with your managers to choose the best route. That might be internal or external training or it might involve further education with a college or university.
