Naturally, science is a key discipline here at AWE and our scientists can be found in a variety of roles across the organisation.
Whether working in research or operations, they play an important role in delivering new ideas and keeping us at the forefront of our industry. They also make a vital contribution to quality assurance and safety in every area of our work. There are a number of disciplines we recruit into, including Physics/Maths, Chemistry, Materials Science, Computer Science, etc.

For example:
If you have a physics or mathematics background, you could find yourself working in a team of research scientists on projects involving weapon physics, dynamic materials modelling and code or numerical techniques.
For chemists, we have a number of roles that could you see you helping to develop the next generation of weapons materials. Working right at the leading edge of this field, we collaborate regularly with universities and our scientists are frequently published in the scientific journals
