The role AWE

Front Line Workers are the backbone of our business. Which is why we’ve created a 12-month programme to attract more talented individuals to join us.

From safety monitoring to engineering procedures, waste management to inventory control, science labs to explosive handling, the programme covers a lot of ground, every bit of it vital to our operations. But more than that, it will give you the skills you need to build a long and varied career with us.

Your first four weeks with us will see you complete a compulsory training course. As well as giving you the chance to settle in and meet other Frontline Workers, it’s designed to give you a better understanding of every aspect of our business and, as you’d expect, there’s a particular focus on safety and technical training.

Once you’ve completed your induction, you’ll then begin the first of three placements. Two of these will be related to your assigned stream, while the other will be in a different area. This will expose you to as much of our business as possible so you’ll be in a better position to progress and move around AWE as your experience grows.
