Wherever you join us, developing your abilities is a real priority at AWE. The fact we have Investor in People (IiP) status is testament to that. Obviously, the potential risk in some of our work means that we have an unwavering commitment to safety so you’ll receive plenty of practical training and education in this area.
The detail of your development plan will depend on the area you join, your ambitions and business needs. Where appropriate, we’ll fund professional qualifications, giving you study leave or making time for you to use our computer-based learning facilities. We’ll also pay for membership of up to two relevant professional bodies every year.
Secondments are also a common feature of life at AWE. This could see you developing your knowledge in another area of AWE or at a third party industrial or government body.
Whether you want to develop specialist or management skills, we’ll make sure you have plenty of support. Whatever route your career takes, our aim is to be a long-term career partner. One that will give you all the encouragement and opportunities you need to further your professional and personal development.
