Starting or Changing Careers @ AWE

Regardless of whether you’re starting out in your career, restarting it after a period of time away from the workplace or wanting to start afresh, there is a range of options to help you consider whether AWE is right for you.

There are four main areas you can join if you don’t have previous experience in the field:

• Science
• Engineering
• Operations
• Business and Administration

Not all science careers start off with having a degree. For several years we have recruited people with an interest in science and helped them develop their skills over time.

Not all of our engineering roles require a degree – to join our award-winning Apprentice scheme you simply need a practical mind and an enthusiasm for the subject.

We also offer people without experience the chance to start an operational or office-based career. With structured on-the-job learning, we can help you develop all the necessary skills.
