The Hydrodynamics department has a number of reinforced concrete firing chambers and X-ray machines available for different masses of experiments.
The charge can be increased to up to 30kg if additional blast protection is used. The most powerful of these X-ray machines, Mogul E, is 25m long and weighs 280 tonnes.
A number of other experimental facilities and diagnostics are also available, such as shock tubes, gas and powder guns, a diamond anvil cell and high speed cameras.
