AWE’s Mechatronics team provides support to the Ministry of Defence in the acquisition and ownership of Warhead Electrical Systems.
A Warhead Electrical System contains a diverse set of technologies, including firing systems, control systems and complex mechanical switch systems.
The team has an ongoing requirement to maintain a capability to develop any potential successor system if required to do so.
The team also provides design and development capability for electronic/electrical systems for AWE’s internal customers.
