AWE win at International Quality Awards

We are delighted to announce that the AWE Quality team won Team of the Year at the International Quality Awards, hosted by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) at London’s prestigious Connaught Rooms.

The International Quality Awards celebrates excellence in the Quality sector. Judged via a rigorous evidence-based process, these awards acknowledge the contribution of the quality profession in enhancing the reputation of organisations around the world.

The Team of the Year Award was open to entries from across the globe and 26 submissions were made, with just four finalists chosen. The judges said that the standard of submissions this year was exceptionally high, so there was great tension in the room and then pride from our team when AWE was announced as the winner.

The Award Committee said “The work of this team is an exemplar of the deployment from strategy through to operational actions, demonstrating collaboration with the customer, regulator and business. The judges thought the use of Quality methods in this submission was first class”.

Receiving the award on behalf of the AWE Quality team, Head of Quality, Stephen Hughes said

“This award is recognition for the daily activities, actions and contributions made by everybody ensuring and assuring Quality across AWE. It is a great opportunity to reflect and celebrate our many successes to date and provides great motivation to inspire the team in the face of future challenges on our journey to excellence”.

This achievement comes just a few weeks after colleagues won four awards at the MOD Quality Awards.  The team was delighted to win this award at a ceremony which also celebrated 100 years evolution of the Quality profession.
