Instructor/Trainer – Control and Instrumentation (C&I)

AWE is looking for an Instructor/Trainer – Control and Instrumentation (C&I) to join a team responsible for inspiring and leading our apprentices to a successful C&I career.

C&I is an enduring and key role required by the business to provide maintenance, installation and design of C&I systems to allow the programme to be successfully deployed. This group of engineers is of particular importance to the modern facilities in construction at AWE and their requirement for PLC and sensor control; C&I is amongst the UK scarce resource. The academy is the key provider of the competent workforce into the business.

Location: Reading

Salary: £45,250 £46,000 per annum (depending on your suitability and level of experience)


Senior Safety Engineer – Mechanical

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Safety Engineer to become a member of our Mechanical Safety Team, within our Engineering Safety Organisation, who provide complex professional engineering judgement for the effective implementation of technical engineering safety.

You will need a strong mechanical engineering background with an engineering/mechanical-related qualification (Level 4/HNC/HND) or equivalent suitable experience and a good understanding of PUWER, LOLER, PSSR, and associated inspection and maintenance requirements.

Location: Reading

Salary: £47,690– £70,000 per annum

plus generous workplace allowances (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)


Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Working within our Maintenance Teams, this role is ideally suited to a maintenance engineer who enjoys a hands-on role carrying out preventive and reactive maintenance on state-of-the-art plant, processes and facilities. The work will be on a range of systems including electrical distribution, specialist production equipment and ventilation systems.

Joining our maintenance team means that you will be at the forefront of all we do, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service. 

Location: Reading

Salary: £25,250 – £40,000 per annum
