AWE triumphs at Employee Benefits Awards

AWE is celebrating a hat-trick with success in all of its shortlisted categories at the recent Employee Benefits Awards 2021. These industry awards recognise excellence and celebrate those who have made a significant difference through their reward and benefits strategies.

AWE had success in all of the three categories that it was shortlisted for – winning the award for Best Healthcare and Wellbeing Benefits, Best Mental Health Strategy, as well as receiving a commendation for their submission in the Best Benefits to Support Employees during the Pandemic (large employer) category.

The judges gave special mention to AWE’s proactive and preventative approach to mental health, along with its overhauled Occupational Health service focusing on wellbeing and employee benefits. Further recognition was also given to AWE for proactively supporting employees and their families throughout the pandemic, paying careful attention to the differing needs of those who could not work remotely and those who could.

CEO and MD, Alison Atkinson, who attended the ceremony, commented: “We’ve made great strides in our wellbeing offering, and to be recognised as a leader amongst a truly global field is a testament to our teams and our people. At AWE we are known to push the boundaries in Science & Engineering – this area is no different. I couldn’t be prouder.”

AWE’s wellbeing programme is a key element of its Responsible Business approach. This programme is led by Wellbeing Manager, Cleo Howie, and has seen a more proactive and preventative approach when it comes to AWE’s people staying well and avoiding ill health. This approach has also seen the development of a mental health strategy that supports the unique needs of the organisation.
