AWE Technical Strategy keynote speech at DPRTE 2026

AWE would like to extend our warm thanks to everyone who joined us at DPRTE 2026, the UK’s leading defence procurement and supply chain event.

At this year’s event AWE’s keynote speech was delivered by Dr Robert Lock (Chief Scientist) and Dr Martin Gilmore (Chief Technologist) and offered attendees a detailed look at AWE’s Technical Strategy: Science, Engineering and Technology at the heart of deterrence.

During their presentation, Dr Lock and Dr Gilmore outlined the purpose, drivers, vision and strategy outcomes that the technical strategy will deliver for AWE and UK’s continuous at sea deterrent.

Dr Robert Lock said: “Presenting AWE’s technical strategy at DPRTE 2026 allowed us to engage with the best of British industry, academia and Government”.

Dr Martin Gilmore said: “It was great to see so many people attend our keynote speech and stay behind afterwards to engage with us”.

AWE remains focused on connecting with those who can help advance the science and technology that underpin the UK’s security.
