David Conway

Chief People Officer

David Conway is an experienced human resources leader, having served in senior positions across the Oil & Gas, Aviation, and Infrastructure sectors. He has successfully managed key people strategies and led significant organisational transformation initiatives.

David began his HR career at British Airways in the late 1990s, specialising in labour relations and partnering with unions to develop new working agreements in response to significant global and operational changes.

He joined BP in 2007, taking on several leadership positions, including HR Vice President for the North Sea and Alaska assets. During this time, David oversaw major portfolio transitions, supported large‑scale investment programmes, and led the people strategy for the Prudhoe Bay field, working closely with Hilcorp on a key business transfer.

In 2021, David joined the executive team at London Gatwick Airport after returning to the UK. There, he played a pivotal role in steering the organisation through post‑pandemic recovery and advancing its long‑term growth strategy, including the successful planning application for the Northern Runway.

Outside work, David is married to Carol and has two children. He enjoys beekeeping, cycling, and is an avid sports fan.
