If tracking, planning and making things run like clockwork sounds like your kind of role then our logistics and transport placement might just be your perfect placement.

Our Operations team play a critical role in supporting the Defence Nuclear Organisation (DNO), part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), to maintain our national security.

You’ll join the Non-Nuclear Operations and Transport Group and support on all things around the safe and secure movement of materials needed for our mission.

Our work is of the highest national security so you must be a British Citizen to apply.

LOCATION: ALDERMASTON NEAR READING

You’ll be based at our Aldermaston site near Reading.

The opportunity

You’ll play an integral part within the operations team at AWE is responsible for making sure logistics run smoothly and securely. This includes setting the rules and ensuring regulation compliance to making sure the movement of all material is conducted in a safe and secure manner.

What you’ll learn

COLLABORATION | PRODUCTION FPLANNING | PROJECT SCHEDULING

During your placement you’ll gain hands on experience in one of the UK’s most vital security environments. You’ll liaise with customers and suppliers to make sure our operations run safely and smoothly.

Throughout your placement you’ll:

  • Explore how production facilities operate including planning, regulatory compliance, competency and training protocols
  • Help schedule and manage operational plans, assess risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, quality ESH and facilities to support seamless delivery
  • Support the line management of embedded operators in the functional areas
