At AWE, project controls professionals are integral in ensuring we deliver our mission successfully and safely on time.
As a degree apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting key areas including cost information, estimates, risk, schedules and plans, statistics, engineering drawings and plans for various projects, while working towards a Bachelor’s Degree.
THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED
Five GCSE’s at Grade 4/C or above to include Maths and English.
You’ll need to be a British Citizen for security clearance.
You’ll be based at our Aldermaston site with one day a week off-site at college.
At AWE, we operate on a nine-day fortnight – meaning you get every other Friday off work in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.

In your apprenticeship, you’ll build the foundations of a career that matters. You’ll receive an initial induction which will develop your basic knowledge, people skills and technical skills to set you up with the confidence and skills to progress onto a programme of work for your initial placement.
You will be supporting by specialist mentors as you develop and apply your core skills in a live working environment. In addition to your practical work you will further your knowledge of project controls through online academic studies with the National College for Nuclear (NCFN), as you work towards achieving a Bachelor’s Degree and completing your apprenticeship.
This role could be a great fit if you’re interested in problem solving as part of a team and the opportunity to be part of the full project lifecycle from planning to implementation and results.
