Welcome to New Discovery!

Launched this week, New Discovery is AWE’s exciting flagship external publication showcasing the breadth of our work, our business and operations, and importantly our people.

In this first edition, some of the main themes we cover are:

  • What a supernova is and how it’s playing a ‘starring’ role at science events
  • Profiles of some of our people at different stages of their career
  • A historical insight into Operation Grapple
  • Using innovative techniques in reclaiming gold
  • How we are supporting an international treaty in keeping our nation safe

New Discovery editor, Paul Sagoo, says,

“I am thrilled with this first edition, packed full of stories and experiences that I am sure our wide external readership will find interesting and inspiring in some way. All of our article contributors share with us insights into what they do and why their work is so important to AWE’s mission in national defence and security.”

AWE Director of Strategy & Communications, Susie Tucker, says,

“I’m proud to launch New Discovery, which provides an exciting glimpse into our activities at AWE. We have broadened the scope of the former publication, Discovery, to appeal to a wider audience and better reflect the variety and depth of what we do. Of course, New Discovery continues to showcase some of our remarkable scientific endeavours. We’re now also aiming to highlight the various ways in which we can apply these techniques for broader benefit.”

New Discovery is a twice-yearly publication. If you have any feedback, please email [email protected]
