AWE honoured with Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award

The highest award under the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold status recognises AWE’s active support of its military veterans, reservists and cadets and future opportunities for people currently serving in the Armed Forces.

AWE CEO, Nick Elliott, said:

“AWE are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, so I am delighted that we have been awarded the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award. As a veteran myself, I fully recognise the contribution our Armed Forces personnel make to AWE and the UK’s wider nuclear endeavours. We fully support our 500-strong community of veterans, reservists and cadet volunteers and are committed to the spirit and principles of the Covenant.”

The Employer Recognition Scheme is open to organisations who have pledged their support for the Armed Forces Covenant. The Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards recognise the actions being taken by organisations to support the UK’s Armed Forces community.

AWE signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2022 and received an Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award in 2023.
