AWE Professor elected Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering

Professor Andrew Randewich, AWE’s Executive Director of Science and Chief Technical Officer, has joined the prestigious ranks of the Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Prof. Randewich is one of 71 new Fellows elected at the Academy’s AGM on 17 September, all leading lights in their fields of engineering and technology. He will be formally admitted to the Academy at a special ceremony in London on 27 November. The Academy’s Fellowship all add their considerable abilities in support of its overarching goal to harness the power of engineering to create a sustainable society and inclusive economy.

Each has made exceptional contributions to their own sector, pioneering new innovations, leading progress in business or academia, providing high level advice to government, or promoting wider understanding of engineering and technology.

Prof. Randewich, who joined AWE in 1997, is responsible for AWE’s Scientific community and leads the company’s strategic external and industrial outreach programmes. As Chief Technical Officer, he ensures that the technical programme of work at AWE is aligned to strategic mission requirements.

He is a Chartered Physicist, a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and was appointed as a visiting Professor at Imperial College London in 2012.
