As we welcome the New Year, we are proud to announce that three outstanding individuals from AWE have been recognised in the New Year Honours List for their exceptional contributions and dedication.

These honours celebrate the remarkable achievements and service of people who have gone above and beyond in their fields. Please join us in congratulating:

Andrew McNaughton – CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire)

Andrew McNaughton has dedicated a 40-year career to the infrastructure sector. He’s been responsible for delivering some of the nation’s most significant major projects including High Speed One, the Aquatics Centre for London 2012 and Heathrow Terminal 5. Formally the Chief Executive Officer of Balfour Beatty, he was until recently the Executive Director for Infrastructure Projects at AWE plc.

Dr Philip Ind – OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire)

Dr. Ind joined AWE in 1998 and has since become the nation’s foremost authority in structural dynamics, embodying dedication and excellence. His career is marked by groundbreaking contributions that have revolutionised AWE’s technological capabilities and set new standards in the defence sector.

Andrew Salter – BEM (British Empire Medal)

Andrew’s illustrious 40-year career at AWE began as an Instrument Maker Apprentice. Over this timespan, he has distinguished himself as a master of his craft and a mentor to generations at an organisation at the heart of the nation’s nuclear deterrent.

This recognition is a testament to their hard work, passion, and commitment to making a difference. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the positive impact they have had on our community.

“I’m delighted to congratulate Andrew McNaughton CBE, Dr Phil Ind OBE and Andy Salter BEM.

Their dedication and expertise have made outstanding contributions to our nation and set a benchmark for brilliance. This is fantastic recognition for them individually as well as for AWE.”
