£31,000 + BENEFITS | 2 YEARS | SUPPORT TO CHARTERSHIP
The Projects Management and Delivery team is the engine behind AWE’s mission, supporting and driving change, making things happen and bringing bold ideas to life.
Join the team and you’ll find it’s more than just building experience. You’ll grow your skills, figure out what you’re great at and where you want to take your career next.
Our work is of the highest national security so you must be a British Citizen to apply.
THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED
We ask for a minimum 2:2 in any degree discipline, but a degree in either project or business management is desirable.
You’ll be based at our Aldermaston site near Reading.
We work a nine-day fortnight. That means every other Friday off work + 270 hours of annual leave.
SKILLS YOU’LL NEED TO DEMONSTRATE
• Determination
• Curiosity
• Innovation
• Resilience
• Team player
You’ll start in one of our project areas, whether it’s project management, project delivery or project control and start building your skills from day one.
You will gain meaningful experience that develops your skills and gives you the opportunity to find out what excites you the most and figure out where you want to take your career. You will also get the opportunity to start working towards chartership.
Throughout, you’ll find plenty of ways to get involved through regular events, spontaneous activities and the Recreation Society. You’ll also be assigned a buddy, a mentor and Evolve pathway lead who will help your transition into the business, provide pastoral support and work with you on your development journey.
LEADERSHIP | PROJECT MANAGEMENT & DELIVERY
During the programme, you’ll get stuck into all aspects of project delivery, seeing how things work from the inside out and learning what it really takes to lead within a large organisation.
You’ll build a solid understanding of how the different parts of AWE fit together, while sharpening your skills through hands-on experience and tailored training, both in-house and externally.
You’ll work alongside and as a key team player within project teams tackling major projects, from large scale construction projects, cutting-edge science programmes, the current warhead programme, nuclear threat reduction and the future warhead programme.
You can register your interest and we will reach out to you when we reopen.
