Why did you choose AWE?
The job description fitted me perfectly! It listed skills that I had used in my Master’s project that I could now apply to a new situation in an area I was curious about and it would give me the opportunity to expand my knowledge.

Tell us about your time at AWE?
I’ve had a really exciting introduction to the organisation. In my short time here, I’ve been lucky enough to visit the US for four weeks to collaborate with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. I’ve read a lot of papers on algorithms and statistics, and I’ve visited Downing Street as part of a project I am working on.

My typical day involves meetings with team members and subject matter experts and working on my deliverables, namely internal memos regarding the mathematics behind some detection algorithms.
