Andy is accountable for transforming the health, safety, environment, quality of AWE sites. He leads the estate and liabilities management capabilities across the whole business. His team also ensure that site is safe and open for business, in addition to handling legacy assets, through decommissioning and waste management.
Andy joined AWE in September 2020 initially to support a specific project before taking on the role of Acting ESH & Quality Director. Andy was previously at AWE (2011-2013) to support the Projects Group and capital projects. His early career was in the chemical industry working for Ciba Speciality Chemicals (now part of BASF). In 2003 he joined BNFL/BNG, working in waste management and decommissioning, then joined Jacobs in 2011 within their Field Services Group. Prior to joining AWE, Andy was Vice President for Strategic Programmes across Jacobs international business.
Andy has a BA (Hons) degree in Applied Chemistry from Leeds University and an MBA from Bradford Management Centre. Andy lives in Leeds; he has 3 grown-up children and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys cycling, golf and watching most sports.
