Business Administration Apprentice

How long have you worked at AWE?
I have worked at AWE for 1 year and 1 month

Why did you choose AWE?
I chose AWE because it seemed like a good reliable company to work for with many career paths you could venture down.

Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship over other career routes?
I am on the business administration apprenticeship. I chose this over a degree as it was more suited to my skills. An apprenticeship suited me because as well as getting a qualification, I am getting paid for the work that I do. I liked the fact that there was a guaranteed job at the end of the apprenticeship as well as gaining a qualification with no student debt

Tell us about your time at AWE?
I am working in a customer service role helping many people in the business with their needs. I have got to experience lots of parts of site and processes at AWE and each one is different in its own way.

What’s the best thing about your job?
The highlight of my job is completing tasks for customers and helping them out. I like that we are rewarded throughout the course with certificates and the 9 day fortnight is a good work incentive as well as the pay.

How do you see your career progressing?
In 5 years, I’d like to be on a career path and going for promotion. I would eventually like to be in a managerial role either at the Skills Academy or for a team of people.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining an AWE apprenticeship?
There are lots of benefits working at AWE including good annual leave allowance, earning while you learn with good pay, course certificates certifying you in things like health and safety and the fact you are guaranteed a job at the end of the apprenticeship.
